AI for the Village

Practical Intelligence for Black Life, Business & LandTwo to three hours in a room together. No prerequisites, no jargon, and no pretending this technology is magic. Sliding scale $35–$95, with sponsored seats at every session.
Sessions

Upcoming dates

No public session is scheduled yet.

The curriculum is written and the workshop is ready to run. The first public date is not set. We would rather show you an empty schedule than a plausible-looking one you cannot actually attend.
The session

How the time is spent

  1. What this actually is

Thirty minutes on the mechanism. Not metaphors about brains — what the thing does, which explains both why it is impressive and why it fails.

  2. Your hands on it

You use it, on your own device, on your own real work. Not a demo you watch someone else give.

  3. Watching it fail

We break it deliberately and in public, so you learn the shape of a wrong answer. This is the part people remember.

  4. What never goes in

The list. Short, specific, and yours to take back to whoever else needs it.

  5. One thing for Monday

Everyone leaves with a single concrete thing to try, sized to the week you actually have.

Photography pendingA community room mid-session: people at tables with phones and laptops open, one person laughing at something on their screen, a facilitator crouched beside a table.
Everyone brings the device they already own.

What you take home

A printed one-page guide, the never-type-this list, a first pass at your own AI Opportunity Map, and one thing to try before the week is out. No upsell at the end.

Hear when a date is set

One list, used only for this. We will not add you to anything else.

Bring it to your people

Host a session for your community

Most of these will happen because a congregation, a library, a cooperative or a neighbourhood association opened their room. You bring the people and the space. We bring the curriculum, and we work out the cost together.

Questions

Before you come

When is the next AI for the Village session?
No public session is scheduled yet. Join the notification list and you will hear the moment a date is set — we will not use that list for anything else.
Can our organisation host a workshop?
Yes, and hosted sessions are how most of these will happen. You provide the room and the people; we bring the curriculum. Tell us about your community through the contact form and we will talk about fit and cost.
What if I cannot afford a ticket?
Sponsored seats exist at every session, funded by paid tiers and partner organisations rather than by anyone working below a sustainable rate. Ask. You will not be asked to prove anything.
