Black Food & Farm AI Working Group

AI belongs in the hands of people growing our future.

Join a developing community of Black farmers, growers, food entrepreneurs, and food-system builders exploring practical ways to use artificial intelligence to strengthen our farms, businesses, organizations, and communities — while protecting our knowledge, autonomy, and ownership.

Status: Forming now. This is an interest list: no meetings or dates are set yet, and signing up commits you to nothing.

What the group will do

Growing the future of Black agriculture with intelligence, ownership, and community

  • Community conversations about AI opportunities and risks
  • Hands-on agricultural AI demonstrations
  • Shared learning and technology literacy
  • Practical farm and food-business problem-solving
  • Peer collaboration and resource sharing
  • Opportunities to help shape future agricultural tools
  • Exploring locally governed and community-owned technology

As things take shape, people on the interest list may be invited to discussions, workshops, collaborative projects or pilots. Signing up is free, and it carries no obligation to buy anything from Heirloom Praxis.

What happens to what you share

Plainly, before you send it

  • It is stored in the Heirloom Praxis database, which is hosted by Supabase. It is used to organize the working group and to suggest tools that fit, and is read only by the Heirloom Praxis team.
  • It is not sold, rented or shared — not with partner organizations, event organizers, or other projects in the Heirloom ecosystem — and it is not sent to any AI model.
  • Joining the working group’s list is separate from general updates and from asking for a personal follow-up. Each is its own choice, off until you tick it, and you can withdraw any of them from the link in our confirmation email.
  • A confirmation email is sent through our email service, Resend. You can ask us to delete everything about you at any time.
